Privacy policy
Last updated: this page reflects the current operation of vanagon.com.
What we collect
- Account data. If you create a forum account, we store your email address, display name, a securely hashed password, and session tokens needed to keep you signed in.
- Content you post. Forum topics and replies you submit are stored and shown publicly under your display name.
- Basic usage data. Standard web server logs (e.g. request timestamps and error traces) are used to keep the site reliable and secure.
We do not sell your data, run third-party ad trackers, or share your account details with anyone outside the infrastructure providers (hosting, database, storage) required to run the site.
Archived mailing-list content
The archive under /archives mirrors public mailing-list messages originally sent to the vanagon LISTSERV between 1994 and 2011. Sender names and email addresses that appeared in the original messages are preserved as part of the historical record, exactly as they existed on the original archive. If you appear in an archived message and want it corrected or removed, see the contact information on our about page.
Cookies & sessions
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in to the forum. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time from the site header, and you may request deletion of your account and posts by contacting the maintainers as described on the about page.
